OpenSolaris Consolidation Information

Available Now

The following OpenSolaris consolidations are available now. Many consolidations release their code in pieces and sometimes release binaries first as a way to get something useful to the community faster. See the Downloads page for detail about what is available and pointers to the specific download pages.

Operating System/Networking (ON)	First Available June 2005. The kernel, networking services and system libraries and commands.
Application Server	First Available June 2005. The Sun Java System Application Server.
	First Available November 2005. Developer tools such as math and media libraries and SCCS and make.
Documentation (Docs)	First Available March 2006. Developer and administration technical documentation.
Globalization Support (G11N)	First Available May 2006. Internationalization and localization support.
	First Available March 2006. Installation support and packaging tools.
Java Desktop (JDS)	First Available October 2005. A secure and comprehensive enterprise desktop software solution.
Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE)	First Available November 2006. The Java Development Kit (JDK) and Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
Man Pages	First Available December 2006. Reference manual pages.
Message Queue	First Available October 2005. The Sun Java System Message Queue.
Network Storage (NWS)	First Available January 2006. Network storage device support.
SFW (Solaris FreeWare)	First Available March 2006. Open source software that is bundled with Solaris/OpenSolaris.
SPARC Graphics Support	First Available October 2006. SPARC graphics drivers.
X Window System (X11)	First Available March 2006. X11 software.

Available in the Future

The following OpenSolaris consolidations will be available some time in the future.

Administrative Tools (Admin)	Web console and UI components.
Customer Network Services (CNS)	Connection-based products providing customer value.

Not Available

There are no plans to make the following consolidations available as open source.
